Frequently asked questions

Answers about visits, paying and what to do when something hurts.

Pricing

Do you take my insurance?

We bill PPO and indemnity dental plans and file the claim for you. DHMO plans, Medicare and Medicare Advantage work differently, so call us with your plan's name and we will tell you before you book. The rest is on our How fees work page.

What if I don't have insurance?

You pay the fee for your visit, and we give you a written estimate before treatment starts. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?

Coverage depends on the plan. Tell us which one you have and we will say yes or no before you come in, and point you to someone who can help if we can't.

Can I get a written estimate before treatment?

Yes. Ask when you book or at your visit. We write down the treatment, the visits it takes and what it will cost before treatment starts, and we give one to anyone paying without insurance.

General

Will it hurt?

We numb the area before we start, and you can raise a hand to stop at any time. Some people feel pressure or soreness afterward, and your dentist tells you what to expect for your visit.

Do you see children, and from what age?

Yes, from toddlers on up. The first visit is mostly looking and counting teeth, and a parent can stay in the room.

Do you offer sedation?

We numb the area and you can ask for a break at any time, but this office does not offer sedation. If you are nervous, tell us and we will go at your pace, or point you to a practice that offers it.

Process

How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?

Your dentist decides, based on your teeth, your gums and your history. Many people come twice a year, and some need to come more often. We agree a schedule with you.

What is a deep cleaning?

A deep cleaning goes below the gum line when your dentist finds buildup or changes in the gums. It can take more than one visit, and we explain why it is recommended and what it costs before we start.

How do I cancel or change a visit?

Call or text us as early as you can and we will move your visit. If a missed-visit fee applies, we tell you when you book, not afterward.

Availability

What counts as a dental emergency?

Trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling that spreads to your face or neck, or bleeding that won't stop needs an emergency room or 911. For a broken or knocked-out tooth, or a toothache, call us right away and we will find you a time when we can.

Getting Started

Can you help in my language?

Tell us which language you prefer when you book and we will say who can help and whether we can arrange an interpreter for your visit.
